Posting this feels a little outside my comfort zone, but if the past six months have taught me anything, it's that growth happens when we embrace discomfort. So here goes...
Six months ago, I made a big decision āI took the leap into entrepreneurship. I walked away from stability, from familiarity, and from a path that no longer aligned with who I was. I had to be brutally honest with myself: What did I truly want? The answer was clearāI wanted to take back control and focus on the stuff that mattered most to me.
Thatās when I launched my own business, Alta Advisory, an M&A boutique. But that wasnāt enough. In January, I co-founded &The Big Fish, an executive search and interim consultancy firm built on the belief that finding the right people isnāt just about skillsāitās about values, ambition, and true alignment. We donāt just fill roles. We make matches that drive impact.
At &The Big Fish, we stand for Brutal Honestyāin business and in life. Growth only happens when we face the truth head-on. No excuses, no delusions, no playing it safe. Whether itās about the future of a company, the dynamics of a team, or your own personal ambitions, clarity and directness always win over sugarcoated half-truths.
The past six months have been a rollercoasterāfull of highs, lessons, and moments of doubt. But if thereās one thing Iāve learned, itās this: honesty isnāt just a value. Itās a competitive advantage. Itās the difference between feeling stuck and creating a life that aligns with who you truly are.
To those building their own path: be bold, be honest, and keep pushing forward. The best things happen when you take the leap!Ā
