đ Stop Overlooking your Own...

I recently caught up with a friend whoâs now CEO of a mid-sized company. She started there seven years ago, climbed the ladder, and when the previous CEO left, colleagues asked: âWhy donât you go for it?â She hadnât considered it, until then. She stepped up, told the board, and got the job.
But hereâs the kicker: why wasnât she asked first?
Too often, boards reflexively look outside when there's a leadership gap. Meanwhile, strong internal candidates, people who know the business and have earned trust, are overlooked.
Brutal truth? Internal leaders are undervalued. And ambition often hides in plain sight.
To boards: Stop overlooking your own.
To leaders: Donât wait to be picked. Step forward.
Sometimes one question is all it takes to change everything.
